Halvalen
Halvalen, the language of spirits, can be found on the walls of abandoned places, commonly carved into wood or painted in black upon surfaces. Although it is assumed that the alphabet (which is so commonly referred to as Halvalen) was translated by spirit writings, it was actually created by humans as a way to speak with the dead. The true language of spirits are the symbols which usually represent virtues, feelings, sins, or stories. Spirits are said to have lost the ability to articulate their thoughts with sentences, so instead can only communicate with humans by using symbols usually meaning one word.
